What We Do

Our department serves as the central point for managing all types of community emergencies. We are responsible for planning, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from hazards that may affect Attawapiskat. Our services include:

• Hazard Alerts: We actively monitor for upcoming threats like wildfires, floods, and severe weather. When a risk is identified, we send out notifications via email and other community channels to ensure everyone is aware and can take the necessary precautions.
• Emergency Response: We provide a coordinated response to various incidents. This includes our volunteer-based fire department that responds to fire emergencies and other life-threatening situations. Our team is trained to handle a wide range of calls to protect our community members.
• Public Safety and Prevention: We believe that preparedness starts with prevention. We offer regular fire prevention workshops and provide educational information to the community. We also facilitate essential training, such as CPR and First Aid, to empower our people to help themselves and others in an emergency.
